Are most roman tub faucets 1/2″ or 3/4″ flow?

Question by marzo: Are most roman tub faucets 1/2″ or 3/4″ flow?
Just went to the Depot and they said we would probably need to order a 3/4″ flow fixture for our roman tub. Seems like all fixtures are 1/2″ though. Need more info on this!! (can’t check as there is no access until our remodel)
In addition, can you buy any trim for any pipe size and get the appropriate valve?

    Yes.
Most Roman tub faucets are 3/4″ in diameter to have the high in flow rates.

The website of Barclay’s shows the various faucets available for Roman tubs.

  2. Eric S says:

They are either. Kohler makes most of there valve trim to work with either 1/2″ or 3/4″. Most Delta Valves are 1/2″. Most builder grade homes are 1/2″ or 3/4″ reduced to 1/2″ at the pipe.
